Livia Baer-Bositis, PhD, is a vice president at Hart Research with more than a decade of experience in qualitative and quantitative research and expertise in advanced statistical and experimental methods for identifying the key drivers of people’s attitudes and behaviors.
Since joining Hart in 2022, Livia has worked on projects across a wide range of sectors, including for political organizations and IEs, advocacy and nonprofit groups, trade associations and unions, and major corporations. She has particular expertise in research on the environment and climate change, public health, food and nutrition, social justice, education, and civic engagement. Livia helps translate complex data for clients into actionable insights, such as the Center for American Progress, Big Cities Health Coalition, WorkMoney, National 4‑H Council, and the DCCC, among many others.
Before Hart, Livia earned her PhD in sociology from Stanford University, where she contributed to research projects on immigration, race and ethnicity, populism, and medical and political sociology. Her own research examined how organizational structures shape gender segregation within professions, using the medical field as a key case study. Her co‑authored work has been published in PNAS, Law & Society Review, Current Opinion in Psychology, and Social Psychology Quarterly.
Livia grew up in Rockville, Maryland, and holds an MA and PhD in sociology from Stanford University and a BA in biology from Northwestern University. She lives in Washington, DC, and loves all animals—especially her redbone coonhound.
