Most Americans Would Oppose Infrastructure Plan That Sacrifices the Environment, New Poll Shows

A new study for the Center for American Progress and Defenders of Wildlife examines Americans’ opinions about potential changes to environmental regulations with regards to improving the country’s infrastructure. 

The national survey of 1,000 voters finds that a majority of Americans across party lines believe that we can rebuild and modernize America’s infrastructure while also maintaining environmental protections. Voters do not believe that building or speeding up infrastructure projects requires us to sacrifice our land, water, and wildlife, and they oppose any infrastructure proposal that would do so.
