Key Takeaways from August 2016 NBC/WSJ Poll
The latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal shows that Hillary Clinton has opened up a nine-point lead over Donald Trump, up from five points prior to both parties’ conventions. Voters’ preference for a Democratic-controlled Congress also has increased by four points, and President Obama’s job rating now stands at 52%, matching the best rating of his second term. Heading into the conventions, just 18% of Americans believed that the country was headed in the right direction, but that proportion has jumped to 32%.
