Major League Baseball Fans Overwhelmingly Support Adding More Safety Netting in Stadiums

Our recent poll conducted for ESPN finds that Major League Baseball fans overwhelmingly believe that adding more netting in stadiums to protect fans is a good idea.  And Americans are divided about whether teams should be held responsible when a fan gets hit.

By 78% to 22%, Major League Baseball fans say that installing additional protective netting at stadiums to prevent baseballs and bats from hitting fans in the stands is a good idea rather than a bad idea. At the same time, many Americans, including baseball fans, are more divided about whether Major League teams bear responsibility when a fan in the stands gets hit, with 55% of Americans expressing that teams should not be held responsible and 45% saying that they should be.
