Majority of Americans Approve of Trump on the Economy; Overall Job Approval Remains Steady
Our newest CNBC All-America Economic Survey finds that Trump’s job approval is steady but low: 41% of Americans approve of the job Trump is doing as president, up two points from March. While Trump’s job approval remains steady, his economic approval has increased six points to 51%. The poll finds that a majority of adults agree with Trump’s plans and proposals for reducing taxes for individuals, renegotiating trade deals, and reducing regulations for businesses, though fewer agree with reducing regulations on businesses, applying taxes and tariffs to imports, and reducing regulations on banks. Additionally, the poll finds that one in three Americans are ambivalent about control of Congress: 34% say the country is not “better off” with either party in control (22%) or that they are unsure (12%).
