Survey in Maryland Finds Strong Support for Transitioning off of Coal

Our new survey for the Sierra Club, conducted in partnership with Ferguson Research (R), finds that 70% of Marylanders support a plan that would phase out the state’s remaining coal-fired power plants, increase generation of power from renewables, and provide financial support to workers from phased-out coal power plants and to the communities in which those plants are located.  Moreover, two-thirds of voters would prefer that all power in the state be generated from renewable sources, rather than a combination of renewables and fracked gas.
